Conference

Actual information

In 2019, at the 12th Conference on Grey Literature, we announced a pause. We took time to consider how to move the conference forward. After weighing up all the options – especially the form and thematic focus of the conference – we finally came to the decision to discontinue hosting the Conference on Grey Literature and Repositories. Several reasons led us to this decision:

  • the topic of grey literature is very specific for a separate conference, moreover, the topic of this conference is and will be well covered at other events (International Conference on Grey Literature, Open Repositories, KREcon, Bibliotheca academica, Archives, libraries, museums in the digital world, etc.);
  • we are involved in EOSC implementation activities in the Czech Republic (IPs CARDS project), which brings us to a larger range of activities (description of research data, issue of persistent identifiers atc.);
  • within the project EOSC-CZ an EOSC Training Centre will be established, which will coordinate the organisation of training events on topics such as FAIR principles, research data, digital repositories, persistent identifiers, etc.

In the near future, we would like to focus more on practical training for information professionals, or on other educational events in cooperation with the EOSC Training Center. It is possible that over time our various activities will crystallize again in some bigger event and we will see each other again regularly. In the meantime, we thank all fans of grey literature for participating in all years of the conference and we look forward to seeing you on other occasions.
