4th Seminar on Providing Access to Grey Literature

National Technical Library in collaboration with the University of Economics in Prague organized in 2011, the 4th annual Seminar on Providing Access to Grey Literature, through which the presentation provides and supports professional debate on grey literature in the Czech Republic.

On the NRGL seminar will be followed workshop "Open Access - Open your mind!", which will be held 26th October 2011 in the National Technical Library in Prague.

    Outputs

      The main theme of this year's seminar will be publishing the results of technical and scientific work in a digital repository, especially in the Czech Republic but also abroad. The seminar will feature international guest Dominic Farace organization of GreyNet and Christiane Stock of INIST, presenting the OpenGrey. One of the main partners of the OpenGrey is National repository of grey literature that uses for a digital repository CDS Invenio. The news and the transition to version 1.0rc0, which contains many new and useful features for NRGL, will lecture Thomas Müller from the National Technical Library.

      The seminar will be also a legal issue of grey literature. Jaromir Šavelka and Michal Koščík from Law Faculty of the Masaryk University in Brno, will pay attention to conditions which must meet document of the grey literature that could be included in the repository. Daniel Jakubik will introduce the project Repozitar.cz from the Masaryk University in Brno.

      New on the seminar will be panel discucion. This theme is Publication of the Grey Literature: Availability, Transparency, Future? Attended by Lenka Maixnerová from the National Library of Medicine, Václava Horčáková of the Historical Institute of the ASCR and Tomáš Pergler of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.

      Seminar for four years continuously monitors the status of the project, where is build the National Repository of Grey Literature. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. The project is in 2011 in the final phase. The seminar will be presented results that were achieved during the project.

      NRGL provides central access to information on grey literature produced in the Czech Republic in the fields of science, research and education.
